JAKARTA - Collaboration in Research and Innovation of Artificial Intelligence (KORIKA), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and the GDP Venture through Glair.ai and Datasaur.ai have signed a collaboration in developing the Large Language Model (LLM) Indonesian.

Later, the LLM, which will be presented through the SEA-LION platform made by AI Singapore, is expected to be an alternative for business actors in developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology in addition to using GPT from OpenAI.

"We, as a group of experts who are highly dedicated, are committed to collecting Indonesian LLM data and encouraging breakthroughs in technology development," said KORIKA General Chair Hammam Riza in his remarks at a press conference on the Indonesian Language Model Large Language (LLM) Development Cooperation between GLAIR.ai, Datasaur.ai, BRIN, KORIKA, and AISG on Thursday, November 30 in Jakarta.

However, if this Indonesian-language LLM can already be used, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, said that the government would not oblige business actors in Indonesia to use this LLM to develop their AI tools.

"We don't have the word 'constrict' or not, but there is one innovation to provide alternative large league models, so far the use of ChatGPT. Now, there is one model design with LLM whose database uses languages in the aspect, including Indonesian, "said Nezar to the media.

Nezar also hopes that later this Indonesian-language LLM can continue to develop further to understand regional languages in Indonesia. Also, support all types of content, including text, audio, and videos.

"So that we can also have one more authentic model folacon, and be closer to our culture, and minimize sentiment and also bias, which is generated by the AI generative," said Nezar.

The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
