Apple's Sales During Single Day In China Lost To Huawei And Xiaomi

JAKARTA The number of sales of Apple smartphones reportedly decreased during the Single Day in China. In fact, the sales figures of Apple smartphones are far behind Huawei and Xiaomi smartphones.

According to a Reuters report, Counterpoint Research as a global technology market research stated that Apple's total sales fell 4 percent year-on-year (YoY) for two weeks, from October 30 to November 12.

Unlike Apple's condition, Huawei and Xiaomi actually experienced significant growth during this period. The two Chinese smartphone manufacturers experienced an increase of 66 percent and 28 percent YoY each compared to the previous year.

In fact, the increase in sales from Huawei and Xioami has increased the sales rate of smartphones from China by 5 percent. In fact, China has continued to experience a decline in sales figures since the pandemic.

These three companies do have the latest output smartphones even though their promotional period is different. Apple comes with the iPhone 15 series, Huawei comes with Mate 60, and Xiaomi comes with the Mi 14 series.

The iPhone 15 series is sold starting at a price of 5,999 yuan (Rp13 million), Huawei Mate 60 is sold starting at a price of 5,4999 yuan (Rp11.9 million), and Mi 14 is sold starting at a price of 3,999 yuan (Rp8.7 million).

Although Apple's sales have reportedly lost to original technology companies in China, it is not yet known whether Apple's sales on e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba and JD.com have also decreased. Both platforms did not release sales figures during the Single Day festival.

Meanwhile, Counterpoint suspects that Apple's decline in sales occurred due to the performance of the tech company. The reason is, the iPhone 15 has problems with the supply chain, affecting the number of supplies.

However, Counterpoint also expects that this situation will improve soon. At least, Apple's sales figure is already better than the previous month although the overall average is still down from last year.
