ISRO Will Carry Out Moon Rock Collection Mission In 2028

JAKARTA The Indian Space Research Agency (ISRO) managed to land their rover on the Moon some time ago. Now, they plan to take rock samples from the Moon.

This mission was proposed under the name Lunar Sample Return Mission (LSRM). According to the plan, ISRO will take the rock in the place where my brother, the lander of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, landed. The place was namedANG Sakti.

"ISRO is now planning a bigger mission, where we will try to bring back rock samples or soil from the ShaktiEZ point," said ISRO Nilesh Desai, Director ofSpace Application Center (SAC) Desai, quoted by VOI from Badmintonexpress.

The mission is planned to launch in 2028 with two separate vehicles. The reason is, this mission will involve four modules consisting of Transfer, Lander, Ascenter, and Re-entry modules.

Mark-II Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) will be used for injection of transfer and re-entry modules. While Launch Vehicle Mark-III will be used for Direct injection of Ascenter and Lander modules, "explained Desai.

In the process of embedding it, ISRO will collect samples and load them into the Ascender module. After that, the Ascender module will go from the Moon to get closer to the Transfer module.

Once docked, the sample will be moved to the Re-entry module until finally the Re-entry and Transfer modules will return to Earth. The NGO will carry out its mission for one day to be lunar or equivalent to 14 days on Earth.
