TikTok Shop Service Will Return November 10, Is That True?

JAKARTA - TikTok Shop service in Indonesia officially closed on October 4. However, after the closure, news emerged that TikTok Shop would resume operations on November 10.

Until now, there is no certainty whether TikTok Shop will resume operations on that date. But what is certain is that the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki recently said that he was asked by President Joko Widodo to meet with TikTok CEO, Shou Zi Chew.

If Teten is just looking to meet TikTok CEO this week, there is a possibility that the TikTok Shop service will not return on that date. Given, TikTok still has to take care of an e-commerce service creation permit.

The regulation is also contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 31 of 2023 concerning Business Licensing, Advertising, Guidance, and Supervision of Business Actors in Trade Through Electronic Systems.
