JAKARTA - Many are asked by users, Meta has finally launched a trial of a new feature that allows users to turn off their receipts on Instagram Direct Message (DM).

"New test alert. You asked, we listened. We heard your feedback and have started testing a new feature that lets you turn off the receipts on your DM," wrote Instagram Head Adam Mosseri on his broadcast channel on Instagram on Tuesday, November 7.

Similar to the features on WhatsApp, with the read receipts feature on Instagram, the sender of the message will not know whether you have read their messages or not, so you can send messages with more privacy.

This feature is still under trial for some users. While it is not certain when it will be fully released, Mosseri said that they will soon launch globally in the future.

"Immediately, people will be able to choose when to let others see when they read their messages," Mosseri concluded.

Recently, Meta also presented a trial of bonus bar features for selected creators in the United States (US), Japan, and South Korea. With this holiday bonus, Instagram will reward creators for sharing their creativity through reels and photos (both single-image posts and carousels).

On the other hand, the tech giant will also start promoting subscription features on the Instagram feed, placing the big "Subscribe" button at the top of each post.
