Taurid Meteor Rain Will Reach Its Peak Next Week

JAKARTA Next week, the Taurid meteor will be visible in the sky for one week. We can all see it if it is lucky enough, both in terms of the area and the support of the weather.

This meteor can actually be seen from the end of October to November. However, not everyone can see it with the naked eye. What's more, the speed is only three to four meteors per hour.

From the Sciencealert report, Taurid will travel at speeds of 10 meteors per hour from November 9 to 13. This time range is the peak of Taurid so we can see it directly in the sky.

Taurid is a small meteor shower that is weak, long-lasting, and scattered. Although slow, the proportion of fireballs in some meteors is very high so we can see the light.

This happens because the flow of Taurid debris contains meteor shards that are much larger than meteor fragments in general. The higher the shower beam, the more meteors will appear in the sky.

For information, the Taurid meteor is debris from Comet Encke. Every year from September to November, debris from Encke will hit Earth's atmosphere at a speed of 65,000 mph.

When plunging into the atmosphere, this meteor will burn until finally the Taurid meteor shower was created. Although the debris from this meteor is quite a lot, only a few parts of the meteor can be seen every night.

The best time to see Taurid is after midnight or when the night sky is clear without the light of the moon covering the light from the fireball. So, make sure to see the sky next week so you don't miss this meteor shower moment, okay?
