JAKARTA Samsung announced a new version of SmartTag, a small device capable of tracking missing objects. This tracker was introduced via Samsung's official channel recently.

As the name suggests, Galaxy SmartTag2, this tracker is a second-generation device created by Samsung. The company claims some of the advantages of this latest version.

"With the Galaxy SmartTag2, we are trying to ensure Samsung Galaxy users can find their belongings in an easy and intuitive way," wrote Samsung, represented by the Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, Jaeyeon Jung.

At this launch, Samsung said that the Galaxy SmartTag 2 has a longer battery life, which is up to 700 days, double the previous model which was only able to last 165 days.

The signal penetration of this device is also better because it uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Interestingly, the installation of BLE on Galaxy SmartTag 2 allows users to find their belongings, even underground, with a maximum range of 120 meters.

SmartTag 2 uses Find's Augmented Reality (AR) technology that can help users search for their goods with a visual display with a smartphone camera connected to the Samsung Galaxy.

The important feature of SmartTag 2 is the Lost Mode2 feature. This feature allows users to enter a number of contacts via message. Later, the person who finds the device can see the owner's contact information after scanning the hashtag.

Samsung will launch tough competitors for Apple AirTag and Tile Pro on 11 October. The company has also not announced a price range for the Galaxy SmartTag 2, but the previous model was priced at 39 US dollars (Rp609 thousand).
