The Importance of Education on the Stress Level of Crypto Investors in Indonesia

JAKARTA - In 2022, the crypto asset market literally shook in all directions. Crypto market capitalization fell below US$ 1 trillion, and Bitcoin (BTC) fell 65%. This naturally made many investors worried about the future of the crypto market in the future.

Crypto data website, CoinKickoff, reports that Indonesia is included in the list of countries that have a high level of stress related to crypto investment in the Southeast Asian region.

According to research titled “Where Are People Most Stressed About the State of Crypto?” Indonesia is included in the list of the top three countries that have a high level of stress related to crypto for the Southeast Asian region.

The reason is because 19.29% of tweets about crypto originating from Indonesia contain stressful sentiments. Singapore and Malaysia occupy the first and second positions with respective percentages of 24.18% and 20.89%.

This research proves the volatility of the crypto market and the lack of investment education that investors make inaccurate decisions, so that they usually end up performing worse than previously thought.

"Education will increase one's knowledge, resulting in more insight regarding crypto. This can provide a broader market perspective, thereby identifying various investment strategy options," said Tokocrypto Public Relations, Bianda Ludwianto in his statement.

This education is also expected to increase trust, because the complexities of entering the crypto world can be quite daunting for beginners.

Chairperson of the Indonesian Crypto Asset Traders Association (ASPAKRINDO), Teguh Kurniawan Harmanda, added that crypto education comes with many benefits. He explained the lack of education was a factor inhibiting crypto adoption.

“Crypto assets is not just about investing, as the industry is growing demand for new talent with an understanding of blockchain and crypto, as well as specialized technology skills. Our main goal is to build a large crypto asset investment community with adoption that can be enjoyed by all parties. It all starts with education and literacy,” said Manda.
