JAKARTA - In an effort to catch up with Google, Microsoft plans to embed OpenAI software that supports ChatGPT into Bing as soon as possible, so that it can be used according to user needs.
Bing is Microsoft's version of search engine, launched in 2019. Bing has a variety of features, from advanced filters where users can filter search results, to image and video searches.
ChatGPT is the work of OpenAI which has quite taken Google by storm lately. Microsoft invested US$1 billion in OpenAI the same year Bing was launched.
Now, it's reported Microsoft's initial investment included a deal to incorporate some aspects of ChatGPT into Bing.
Launching Engadget, Thursday, January 5, OpenAI developed ChatGPT as a language model that uses deep learning to generate human-like text responses.
ChatGPT quickly skyrocketed in popularity because of its ability to return responses that look like they were written by an actual person.
However, this tool raises concerns because it can easily be used by students to cheat. ChatGPT is free for now, but OpenAI intends to charge fees for its use in the future.

Although Bing's integration with ChatGPT is not yet clear, it is claimed to help Bing present results to users in a more friendly way.
A source familiar with Bing's systems said Microsoft could use the technology to present search results as full-sentence answers with the source information.
If Bing suggests a query related to the original, GPT can explain its relevance in a meaningful way. This technology can also help Bing suggest better keywords or keyphrases to users.
