Twitter Now Eliminates Two-Factor Authentication with Phone Numbers

JAKARTA - Twitter seems to have removed the ability to perform two-factor authentication (2FA) using a phone number.

Not sure when the 2FA capability with phone numbers will no longer be valid, but this news was first discovered by 9to5google, and when VOI tried it directly, it turned out to be true.

So, when you go to Settings & Privacy > Security and Account Access > Security > Two-factor authentication, you'll still find three options for enforcing 2FA, namely by phone number, authentication app, and security key.

However, if you select the option to use your phone number then when you enter the number, after which you will see a small pop-up at the bottom reading "currently we can't register this phone number."
