JAKARTA - Apple is planning a new breakthrough next year, in which the company will launch an external monitor with its flagship Apple Silicon chipset.
In the latest issue of its Power On newsletter, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reports Apple has several new external monitors in development. Among these is a new version of Pro Display XDR, which will be paired with the new Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro.
Gurman, said it's likely that the new Pro Display XDR may not arrive until later in the year and after the new Mac Pro models.
The external monitor is designed for Mac and iPad users. Currently, Apple Sells two external monitors, namely Studio Display (2022) and Pro Display XDR (2019).
"Apple is working on several new external monitors, including the Pro Display XDR update that is rolling out alongside the Intel Mac Pro in 2019," said Gurman.
"It's possible the company's next high-end display will ship after the Mac Pro, as computers are further along in development than monitors."

Furthermore, this new external monitor will also be supported by Apple Silicon chips in it so that, said Gurman, the screen will not be too dependent on the resources of the installed computer, such as a Mac or MacBook.
Quoted from 9to5Mac, Tuesday, December 20, this should come as no surprise, because Studio Display is also powered by the A13 Bionic chip inside along with 64GB of storage.
It seems that Apple prefers to continue this route rather than bring back the 27-inch iMac, which last appeared in 2020. Also, to fill the gap, it is likely that Apple will also launch two Mac Mini models released in 2023.
