JAKARTA - Starbucks has finally launched its web3 and NFT-based Starbucks loyalty program called Starbucks Odyssey in beta on Thursday, December 8 for members and partners (employees) of the first Starbucks Rewards in the US.

Back in September, Starbucks announced its plans for the Starbucks Odyssey experience. Shortly after the beta launch, Starbucks Odyssey members will be able to buy or sell NFTs, called Stamps, through the Starbucks Odyssey marketplace powered by the Nifty Gateway.

Then early next year, members will be able to buy limited edition stamps directly with a credit card, so customers won't need a crypto wallet or cryptocurrency to buy them.

Some of the main features of the Nifty Gateway in partnership with Starbucks are:

  • Credit Card Payment Option that makes purchasing NFTs as easy as shopping online.
  • Custodian Wallet secures and stores NFTs on behalf of your customers.
  • Customer Service assists your customers when they need it.

"These features make Nifty Gateway the ideal partner for Starbucks. In addition to integrating existing tools into the Starbucks Odyssey experience, the team at Nifty Gateway is building new infrastructure to align with Starbucks' sustainability commitments by developing integrations to support Polygon in our markets", said Kevin Lee, Head Of Product Marketing, NFTs (Nifty Gateway) in his announcement.

Lee also expressed pleasure that an iconic global brand such as Starbucks has decided to embrace the huge potential of Web3 and NFTs, and believes that projects such as Starbucks Odyssey will play a central role in the continued adoption of Web3 technologies on a global scale.
