JAKARTA - The development of games in Indonesia is progressing. In 2021, the gaming industry in Indonesia will be able to contribute IDR 24.88 trillion to national GDP.
"Right now, everyone is a gamer. In fact, the Indonesian gaming industry has contributed $2 billion to the country's economy," said Putri Alam, Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy for Google in Indonesia at Google for Indonesia (G4ID) 2023 on Wednesday, December 7th.
As a commitment to support game development industry players in Indonesia, today Google announced that it will fund a pilot program called Google Play x Unity Game Developer Training.
"I am proud to announce Game Developer, a game development training program by Google, in collaboration with Unity and the Indonesian Game Association (AGI)," said Putri.
In collaboration with the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), this program will provide Unity training and certification to 500 students at more than 15 universities and 50 professional developers.
This training is provided free of charge through online self-paced courses, and developers can also opt for instructor-led online training sessions.
