JAKARTA - Elon Musk stated that parody accounts must include the word "parody" in all account descriptions, including in the Twitter bio as well as the account username.

"Going forward, accounts involved in parody must include 'parody' in their name, not just in their bio," new Twitter owner Elon Musk said in a tweet on Twitter on Friday, November 11 this morning.

Because according to him, accounts impersonating other people or rather accounts doing parody impersonations are basically deceiving people, and Musk said that's not a good thing.

During his tenure, Musk stated that he would fight parody accounts, bots, and spam. The steps taken today may be part of Musk's statement on Sunday 6 November that his mission is to make Twitter the most accurate source of information.

Musk also took firm steps by permanently suspending Twitter users who were impersonating without clearly naming them a "parody" account.

At a different time, Twitter's Head of Security and Integrity, Yoel Roth revealed that Twitter managed to reduce 95 percent of harmful content and hate speech overall.

He said suspending thousands of trolling or abusive accounts at the core of the spike and filtering Tweets detected as hate and harassment was their way of reducing the harmful content.

Meanwhile, the Twitter account verification drama continues. Other users can now see two types of blue tick accounts on Twitter. First, a verified account due to a subscription to Twitter Blue and a verified account because it is a leading account in the category of government, news, entertainment, or certain other categories.
