JAKARTA - Last July, Meta released its Q2 2022 earnings report, as a result, Meta's revenue declined in the second quarter of this year. For this reason, Meta launched its strategy by introducing new placements and ad formats on Instagram.

"To help businesses tell their stories and reach new customers, we're rolling out new placements and ad formats on Instagram," Meta wrote in its announcement found by Engadget on Tuesday, October 4.

So, starting today, advertisers can use this feature to place their ads on the Explore Home as well as in the posts feed of users' profiles.

"Businesses can now place ads on the Explore Home, the grid that people see when they first arrive on the Explore tab," Theo added.

Furthermore, Meta says that ad placement in this profile feed is on a trial basis. The ad experience in this feed is scrollable for people after visiting the account profile and tapping the post.

"As part of this test, we'll be experimenting with monetization opportunities that allow eligible creators to earn additional revenue from ads shown in their profile feeds, starting with selected US creators," the company explained.

On top of that, Meta is also announcing many other updates to its advertising products, most of which will impact the Instagram app.

Meta will try Augmented Reality (AI) ads in feeds and Stories. Meta suggests that advertisers might be able to use this to allow people to test virtual furniture in their homes via Instagram.
