JAKARTA - Meta messaging app WhatsApp is now rolling out extra capabilities that allow users to take control by filtering unread messages.

"You can now sort your chats by the "unread" filter for extra control and settings," the company wrote in its Twitter announcement.

If you don't know how this feature works, then this feature allows you to view the conversations you haven't read and WhatsApp will put those conversations to the very top.

How to use this feature is quite easy, you only need to do one to two steps. Here's how to do it:

How to Filter Unread Messages on Mobile Open the WhatsApp application on the smartphone. Click on the Search tab in the form of a magnifying glass. From there, you'll see the Unread filter, and click it. You will be able to see messages that you haven't read or maybe you've forgotten for a long time. How to Filter Unread Messages on Desktop

It's easier to filter unread messages on your desktop than on your phone. Here's how:

Open WhatsApp desktop (on the web or desktop app). Scan the QR code to enter the account. On the main screen, click the three line icon next to the search tab. WhatsApp will automatically filter messages that you haven't read.
