JAKARTA - For a long time, the scarf has been the main accessory for football fans all over the world. The scarf is considered a symbol of football fandom. On Wednesday, July 27, English football club Manchester City announced the latest Scraft innovations together with its new partner Cisco, the world's largest network equipment manufacturer.

According to Manchester City's official website, the scarf allows them to measure the fans' heartbeats and emotions towards their favorite club's playing on the pitch.

"Being a true diehard fan is physiological, it has nothing to do with how many games you attend or where you are in the world. It's what unites us as a collective. Now we have the data to prove it," said Chintan Patel, Cisco Chief Technology Officer UK & Ireland.

The new Scraft will be equipped with an EmotiBit bio sensor placed around the neck, The Connected Scarf will capture the body's biological signals throughout the game and allow Cisco to shape more curated and customized experiences in the future.

Scraft will be able to record a variety of physiological actions, including heart rate, body temperature, and emotional arousal while watching a match.

Currently, the company is still in the pilot stage by inviting six City fans. But the company promised that it would launch The Connected Scraft globally starting next season.

“At Manchester City, we are constantly exploring the latest technologies to deliver high-quality fan experiences and bring them closer to the club,” explains Nuria Tarré, Chief Marketing & Fan Experience Officer of City Football Group.

According to Tarré further, this Cisco is an innovative new way to bring fans together and connect with them in new and exciting ways.
