JAKARTA - TikTok has joined forces with Pearpop to launch a comedy series by creator Jericho Mencke. Pearpop is a separate platform that allows content creators to monetize their influence through challenges and brand sponsorships.

The new series, called Finding Jericho, will stream exclusively on TikTok Live and can be watched for $5 for all eight episodes.

Each episode is 30 minutes long, with the first two episodes accessible free to all TikTok users.

In each episode of the series, Mencke will interview celebrities and creators, including Griffin Johnson, Sloane Veronico, and Wasil Daoud.

Pearpop says Finding Jericho will touch on unconventional topics that won't be seen anywhere else. Mencke will also sketch to add a comedic aspect to the series.

The series was created by the Pearpop development team, Zack Bernstein and Austin Sokol, along with Mencke. Pearpop said it was inspired by Borat, Nathan For You, and The Eric Andre Show.

"Jericho's random styles and satirical groups always start in one place and end where the audience thinks the unimaginable," said Pearpop CEO Cole Mason as quoted by TechCrunch, Saturday, June 4.

“The comedy is always clean, but with a uniquely edgy tone, for all ages. Pearpop will continue to push the boundaries of how content creators, brands, and entertainers can work together and collaborate in new ways. Today's news marks an exciting new milestone on that journey."

Finding Jericho premieres on June 2 at 9 p.m. PDT on Mencke and Pearpop's TikTok accounts. The rest of the series will air next Tuesday and Thursday at 9 p.m. PDT.

Last month, TikTok launched its Live monthly subscription tool for invite-only creator content, after launching the service in January 2022.

The service allows content creators to increase their earnings while continuing to grow their community with perks like customer badges, custom emotes, and customer-only chat.

In 2020, TikTok announced a $200 million fund to support creator content, but subscription services provide a more direct revenue stream to content creators themselves.
