JAKARTA - In the latest issue of Edge magazine, Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie discusses the follow-up to the noir adventure The Wolf Among Us which was released in 2013.

Ottilie invites newcomers to dive into The Wolf Among Us 2 with longtime fans of the original game. Ottilie confirmed that new players will still understand what happened even though the game is a sequel to the first series.

"We're trying to design our narratives so they can stand on their own," Ottilie said, citing IGN. Although he hopes some new players will revisit the first season of The Wolf Among Us before jumping in with the sequel.

"It shouldn't really matter, although we think the opening of the first episode set things up in such a way that players understand how the characters got to where they are now."

The Wolf Among Us 2 will continue to use the episodic release format of the first season and retain some of the consistent elements from the other games.

"The challenges with old proprietary machines are well known," explains Ottilie. "We wanted Unreal's speed, power, flexibility and art channel. However, we still needed our proprietary tools for many aspects such as enabling fast iteration and our preferred episodic gameplay, so we had to refresh the tool to sit on top and work with the new engine ."

The Wolf Among Us 2 will release episodically in 2023. However, Telltale will finish development on each episode before the first part is released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One.
