Implementing Digital Applications In Public Services, South Sulawesi Provincial Government Received Top Digital Award 2021

JAKARTA – The ability to provide public services by utilizing digital applications has earned the South Sulawesi Provincial Government the 2021 Top Digital Award from ITWork Magazine.

The Top Digital Award was handed over by the Director-General of Informatics Applications (Aptika) of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics and the Deputy for Cyber Security of the State Cyber and Code Agency (BSSN), to the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, represented by the Head of the South Sulawesi Communications and Informatics Service, Amson Padolo, in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 21.

Amson Padolo in his statement in Makassar, Wednesday, December 22, said that the South Sulawesi Provincial Government had won this award after going through a fairly long judging stage, which was approximately three months.

"Mr. Andi Sudirman Sulaiman always emphasizes that public services are digital-based, so that they are more effective and efficient," Amson said as quoted from Antara.

Amson revealed that the South Sulawesi Provincial Government's Electronic-Based Government System Index (SPBE) has continued to increase from year to year. The SPBE index of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government in 2019 was at 2.6, rising to 3.08 in 2020.

The Minister of Communications and Informatics in his remarks read by the Director-General of Aptika, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, said that the Top Digital Award 2021 activity is very much in line with the policy direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which is carried out by the Ministry of Communication and Information.

Jokowi several times in his statement wants to increase the acceleration of digital transformation in order to encourage increased implementation and use of digital technology, both in government agencies, business corporations, and other institutions.

The participants of the Top Digital Award 2021 are corporations (SOEs, Regional-owned Enterprises, and Private), Government Agencies (Central, Provincial, and City Districts), and Institutions/Agencies throughout Indonesia which are judged the Best by the Jury in terms of implementation and utilization of IT- Telco/Digital Solutions.

There are also leading IT-Telco Principals/Vendors and Digital Solutions (Applications/Solutions/Hardware/Software) from within and outside the country who are rated the Best by Corporations, Government Agencies, Institutions/Agencies, and Society, which are users and customers.

The Jury for the Top Digital Award 2021, including Prof. Dr. Ing Ir Kalamullah Ramli MEng (Chairman), and members of the jury consisting of experts and professionals from associations, consulting institutions, organizations, and IT-Telco activists and Digital Technology Solutions.
