JAKARTA - Some time ago Apple users complained about their Mac devices turning off completely or experiencing a completely black screen, after installing the company's latest operating system, macOS Monterey. But now, the fix has arrived.
Apple has released a fix for a Mac firmware bug that has been crashing some Mac users. The fix applies to Macs with the Apple T2 chip, including most Macs with Intel processors released in or after 2018.
"We have identified and fixed an issue with the firmware on the Apple T2 security chip that prevented a small number of users from booting their Macs after updating macOS", Apple said in a statement.
"Updated firmware is now included with existing macOS updates. Any user affected by this issue can contact Apple Support for assistance."
But unfortunately, Apple's statement does not address similar complaints by owners of pre-T2 Macs. Before fixing this bug is noteworthy, you must have the latest version of Apple Configurator 2 installed on a Mac running macOS 10.15.6 or later.

Internet access is also required when performing Mac repairs. Because you have to configure a web proxy or firewall port to allow all network traffic from Apple devices to Apple 17.0.0.0/8 network. In addition, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable or a company-supported USB-A to USB-C cable is required. As well as a Thunderbolt 3 cable. See more about how to fix it here.
Previously, it was known that on Apple's discussion forum, there were a total of 10 uploads detailing bad experiences after installing macOS Monterey. One user mentioned that on his MacBook Pro 2019, the computer didn't turn on at all after completing the update and that the regular recovery options didn't fix the problem.
Another user with a 2018 MacBook Pro has also had issues with the computer restarting, but showing nothing on the screen. Not only in discussion forums, but users also complain about this on Twitter while calling @AppleSupport to find a solution soon. This issue appears to also cover iMac and Mac Mini models.
While on Reddit, an iMac user mentioned that after downloading MacOS Monterey, his 2017 iMac needed to restart, but it never made it back to the home or home screen, instead of showing a blank screen. Several Reddit users also had the same problem.
