JAKARTA - Goalscorer Legia Warsaw sprinkled salt over Leicester's wound following their Europa League win wearing a '1-0' t-shirt in a post-match interview.

Mahir Emreli scored the only goal of the game for the Polish side on Friday as Brendan Rodgers' side slipped to the bottom of Group C.

It was a disappointing night for the Foxes, who squandered chances through Ayoze Perez and Jannik Vestergaard in Warsaw and were punished when Emreli fired home from the edge of the box in the 31st minute.

Leicester could have gone home 2-0 down if Kasper Schmeichel had not saved Lirim Kastrati's shot and Tomas Pekhart's shot had not gone wide.

With Kelechi Iheanacho out due to travel paperwork issues and Jamie Vardy on the bench, Rodgers only has Patson Daka brought in in the summer to lead Leicester's forward line.

Daka tried everything to score, made five of Leicester's 18 shots, but failed once. On the other hand, Legia has succeeded in making her supporters happy.

Legia's second win puts them top of Group C, ahead of Spartak Moscow, who beat Napoli in a game featuring 12 yellow cards and two red cards.

So happy with this victory, the hosts decided to celebrate by printing a t-shirt with the score on it.

Reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt was amused to see Emreli doing his post-match media duties proudly wearing a t-shirt that read: “1:0, Legia Warsaw v Leicester City, 30.09.2021.”

“How did Legia get a T-shirt with the result printed on it?” wrote Rhind-Tutt on Twitter.

Leicester is favorites to win the Europa League this season with Napoli. However, both clubs are now only able to take one point from their first two matches.

Rodgers' men are winless in this competition and have won just two of their opening six Premier League games. However, the former Liverpool boss is not worried.

"(Opportunities) are very open, there are four games left," he said. “Legia made a good start but our aim is to qualify. We still have work to do.

"We got one point from two games but there is enough time to win another one. I am disappointed with the result. We were too passive in the game in the first half. Then we had some really good chances.

"We didn't concede too many, we dominated the second half and were much more active. We had a chance to get something out of the game.

"We have four games to go through. As a football club, we are new to this level."
