Real Madrid Raise Bid To Sign Mbappe To 180 Million Euros, Leonardo Still Refuses?

JAKARTA - Real Madrid has reportedly increased their offer to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker Kylian Mbappe to 180 million euros after an initial offer of 160 million euros was rejected, according to French media reports L'Equipe on Friday.

L'Equipe said, as reported by Antara, that the amount would include a bonus of 10 million euros.

Spanish and French media reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid had made their first bid for the 22-year-old, who scored 42 goals in all competitions for PSG last season.

Mbappe is rumored to have asked to move to the Spanish league competition.

PSG sporting director Leonardo said an offer of 160 million euros was "not enough" and Mbappe, who has one year left on his current contract, would only leave at the Ligue 1 club's asking price.

"We have always been very clear... the situation, the position of the club," PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi told BeIN Sports during the Champions League draw, with the French club in the group with last year's runners-up Manchester City.

"We're not going to repeat it every time. You know our position, it hasn't changed".

Mbappe joined PSG from AS Monaco in 2017, initially on loan and then made permanent a year later in a deal worth 180 million euros.

Leonardo added that PSG did not want to let Mbappe go for less than what they paid when they signed him from Monaco.
