JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali seeks to foster national water sports athletes by holding the KSAL Cup which was held in Ancol, North Jakarta, Saturday.

Ali when met at the opening ceremony of the KSAU Award said this activity was held to improve the quality of athletes so that they could excel in the international arena.

The activity, which previously started on Wednesday (25/6) was attended by more than 2,300 participants.

"The participants who participated consisted of TNI AD, AL, AU and Polri personnel. There were also participants from various countries, namely from Thailand, Singapore and the United States," Ali said when met in Ancol.

Not only competing for senior athletes and from units alone, this event also competed for junior athletes, namely at the junior high school (SMP) and high school (SMA) levels.

Ali continued, in this event his party held various competitions including rowing, sailing, water ski, jet ski, swimming, and diving.

In each branch of the competition, his party has provided prizes for the category of winners 1, 2 and 3 in the form of money and trophies.

Later, the winners of competitions and athletes who are considered potentially to be coached by the Indonesian Navy and related parties will be able to excel more in the international arena.

With this activity, the KSAL Cup, Ali hopes that national athletes in water sports can excel at the international level in order to make the nation proud
