The U-17 Indonesian National Team Qualifies For The 2025 U-17 Asian Cup Finals

The U-17 Indonesian national team gets tickets for the 2024 U-17 Asian Cup finals (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA The U-17 Indonesian national team successfully got a ticket to the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup finals with the status of one of the five best runners-up.

Indonesia U-17 got tickets to qualify for the event after playing a goalless draw against Australia U-17 in the last match of Group H at Abdullah Al Khalifa Stadium, Kuwait, Sunday, October 27, 2024, WIB night.

"I really appreciate the entire team, from players, staff, to coaches. This is a moment we have been waiting for," said U-17 Indonesian national team coach Nova Arianto.

Indonesia U-17 completed three group stage matches with two wins and one draw. In total, Nova's squad collected seven points.

The number of points is the same as Australia, which came out as the group winner. However, the results of Indonesia U-17 against the North Mariana Islands U-17 were not counted for the best runner-up determination.

This made Indonesia only get four points, the result of a victory against Kuwait U-17 and a series against Australia in the group's last match.

The four points are enough for Garuda Muda to continue their journey to the final round. Indonesia U-17 achieved the best runner-up status with China U-17, Vietnam U-17, Iran U-17, and Oman U-17.

"We are very happy that hard work so far has finally paid off with success in qualifying for the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup finals," Nova said.

Overall there are 16 teams that get tickets to the final round later, including the hosts of Saudi Arabia U-17.

The other 10 teams that will play in the finals next year are North Korea U-17, Afghanistan U-17, South Korea U-17, Thailand U-17, Uzbekistan U-17, Japan U-17, Australia U-17, United Arab Emirates U-17, Yemen U-17, and Tajikistan U-17.

The teams got tickets for the final round after ending their qualifying as group winners.
