JAKARTA The Indonesian League 2 season 2024/2025 officially opened on Saturday, September 7 at 15.30 pm WIB at the Lt. Gen. H. Sudirman Stadium, Bojonegoro, East Java.

The opening ceremony for the second caste from the Indonesian league was held before the match between the hosts Persibo Bojonegoro and a team of fellow East Java, Persik Kediri.

This season, a total of 26 teams are fighting in Liga 2. This number is divided into three groups, two of which consist of nine clubs each and the other eight clubs.

The two groups with the most members will each pass the three best teams to the last eight. They were accompanied by two other best teams from groups with fewer members.

The eight teams that reach the last eight will later be divided into two groups, each of which contains four teams. Furthermore, leaders from the two groups will continue to the final round.

Both teams will win the status of League 2 champions and automatically promote to the Indonesian League 1 next season. The second position of the two groups will play a playoffs to win one remaining promotion ticket.

Meanwhile, those who fight in the round of 18 will be divided into three groups, each of which contains six teams. Three of each group will be relegated to League 3.

Thus, the remaining 14 clubs will maintain their League 2 status. These clubs will fight with Liga 1 clubs 2024/2025 which will play caste to League 2.
