XXI PON Fire Torch Carnival Ready To Be Taken To The National Hope Stadium

JAKARTA - The XXI Aceh-North Aceh National Sports Week (PON) fire festival (PON) - 2024 is ready to be taken to the National Hope Stadium (SHB) after arriving at the Aceh Governor's Hall on Saturday, September 7.

The PON fire sport was symbolically handed over from the Acting Mayor of Banda Aceh Ade Surya to the Acting Governor of Aceh Safrizal ZA.

Previously, the PON fire torch had spent the night at the Banda Aceh Mayor's Hall on Friday, September 6.

"After traveling around all districts/cities throughout Aceh, starting from Sabang, today the PON fire will be kept at the Aceh Governor's Hall and will later be taken to the Main Stadium Harapan Bangsa to be discussed," said Acting Governor of Aceh Safrizal ZA as reported by ANTARA, Saturday.

The source of the XXI Aceh-North PON torch fire was taken from Mount Merapi Jaboi, Sabang, on Tuesday, August 27.

Starting from Weh Sabang Island, participants from the XXI PON fire procession moved to Aceh Jaya Regency, Aceh Jaya, West Aceh, Simeulue, Nagan Raya, Southwest Aceh, South Aceh, Aceh Singkil, Subulussalam.

Furthermore, Southeast Aceh, Gayo Lues, Aceh Tamiang, Langsa, East Aceh, North Aceh, Lhokseumawe, Bireuen, Bener Meriah, Central Aceh, Pidie Jaya, Pidie, Aceh Besar, and ended up in Banda Aceh.

When entering the Pendopo of the Governor of Aceh, the kirab participants who moved from the Banda Aceh Mayor's Hall were greeted by ASN of the Aceh Provincial Government (Pemprov).

On Monday 9 September, three former athletes will take fire from the kirab runners and will turn it on the kaldron torch at the opening night of the XXI Aceh-Sumut PON at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium. The three athletes include fencer Alkindi and Ema Susana Madjaji as well as lembing throwing athlete Tati Ratna Ningsih.

"I would like to thank all parties including the regents and mayors who with great fanfare received, accompanied, and delivered the PON fire until it was finally accepted at the Aceh Governor's Hall," said Safrizal.
