JAKARTA - The new couple, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin performed quite well at the Korea Open 2024. Even so, the Head of the PBSI PP Pelatnas Men's Doubles Coach, Aryono Miranat, hopes that his students will not be satisfied quickly.

In the BWF Super 500 tournament, Leo/Bagas and Fikri/Daniel each came out as champions and semifinalists.

This result follows a positive trend between the two pairs, where in the previous week, namely the BWF Super 750 Japan Open tournament, both of which were able to reach the semifinals.

According to Aryono, the Leo/Bagas pair have shown good performance in terms of communication and rotation in the middle of the field.

"But they still can't feel satisfied quickly. It still has to be improved again. The training must be improved," said Aryono from a brief statement from PP PBSI, reported by ANTARA, Sunday, September 1.

The defense needs to be improved again. In terms of attack they are relatively good. The front game is also good. Even so, it must still be improved, especially in the defense and drive sectors," he added.

Meanwhile, for the Fikri/Daniel pair, they have also performed a good game to qualify for the semifinals.

However, Aryono assessed that in terms of the front game Fikri also had to be improved again.

This is so that Daniel can attack more freely from the back line. Daniel as a defender has a good attack. So Fikri must focus even more on the front game. This is to lure Daniel to attack from behind," said Aryono.

In addition, Fikri/Daniel's defense also needs to be improved again. Hopefully in the future, their next match can be even better. The rotation can be even better," he added.

From these two tournaments, Aryono said there seemed to be something positive about the decision to dismantle the two men's doubles pairs.

For Bagas/Leo the type of game is almost the same. Tempo their game is not too fast or slow. So the pattern is almost the same," said Aryono.

Meanwhile Fikri/Daniel are almost the same. They have a fast game. So in general, from the separation and installation of these two double pairs, the results are positive," he added.

In the near future, Leo/Bagas and Fikri/Daniel will be sent to the BWF Super 500 Hong Kong Open tournament and the BWF Super 1000 China Open tournament.
