Leo/Bagas To The Korean Open 2024 Final After Bending Partners

Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana stepped into the final of the Korea Open 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana managed to advance to the Korean Open 2024 men's doubles final.

They got that ticket after defeating their compatriots in the semifinals, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, afternoon WIB.

Leo/Bagas won convincingly two straight games with a score of 21-9 and 21-14.

In the first set, Leo/Bagas won 2-0 before the position was balanced. The pursuit of numbers occurred until the score was 4-4.

However, after that Leo/Bagas shot up. Fikri/Daniel points stopped at number four when they reached the interval.

After the break, conditions did not change. Leo/Bagas can stay away until 18-4. As a result, Fikri/Daniel released the first set with a landslide defeat of 9-21.

Entering the second set, Fikri/Daniel also could not rise. Had to compete fiercely until the score was 8-8, they had to fall behind again in the 8-11 inverval.

This result brought Leo/Bagas to set foot in the Korean Open 2024 final. They have been waiting for the host's men's doubles which is also the first seed in the tournament, Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae.

The men's doubles final will be played on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Stepping into the top party is Leo/Bagas' first achievement as a new partner. They have been a new couple since before appearing at the Japan Open 2024 last week.

This means that the Korea Open 2024 is Leo/Bagas' second tournament. Previously at the Japan Open 2024, they were also able to reach the semifinals, but failed to reach the final.

Fikri/Daniel made a similar achievement. The semifinals of the Korea Open 2024 are the second four of them.

As is known, Fikri/Daniel are also new couples such as Leo/Bagas. Before PBSI reshuffled the composition of the men's doubles, Fikri paired up with Bagas, while Leo partnered with Daniel.

The two new doubles will be tested in four tournaments. This means that there are still two next tournaments after the Korea Open 2024 which will be the testing arena for whether their composition will remain or be changed again.
