Nathan Tjoe-A-On Appears 58 Minutes, Swansea City Expelled From Carabao Cup

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team player, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, appeared for Swansea City at the 2024/2025 Carabao Cup. However, Nathan's presence could not save the team from defeat until he was finally eliminated from the tournament.

Swansea City appeared to face a third caste club, Wycombe Wanderers, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, early morning WIB. However, the final result showed that Wycombe was stronger because he was able to close the match with a 1-0 victory.

In the second round match which took place at Swansea.com Stadium, the Indonesian national team's versatile player, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, was trusted to start. Club coach Luke Williams put Nathan on the left back against Wycombe.

Despite being a visiting team, Wycombe gave Swansea a first threat. It is proven that they pose a threat through Josh Scowen's right-footed shot from outside the penalty box which was lucky to still be thwarted by goalkeeper Vigoroux.

Throughout the early 20 minutes, Wycombe looked more comfortable playing the ball than the hosts. While Swansea looks constantly under pressure.

After that time, Swansea was only able to rise by threatening Wycombe. Through Zan Vipotnik's header from the center of the penalty box, it almost opened up, but the effort was still off the mark.

Swansea and Wycombe countered each other's attacks. However, Wycombe managed to take a chance to become a goal in the 40th minute. Starting from a throw into Wycombe on the left side of Nathan's Swansea defense, the Swans' back line was off guard.

Striker Wycombe Richard Kone who was in the penalty box gave the ball to Matt Bucher. Butcher dribbled slightly, then passed back to Kone.

Without tight guard from opposing players, Kone fired a left foot kick that Vigoroux couldn't anticipate. Wycombe lead 1-0.

Left 0-1 in the first half made Swansea try to bounce back in the second half. In the 54th minute, Jay Fulton's header could be blocked by the opponent's defense.

Coach Luke Williams made a tactical change after Swansea could not score a reply until the 57th minute. At this moment Nathan Tjoe-A-On was replaced by Josh Tymon in the 58th minute.

After Nathan left, until the 70th minute the hosts were still having trouble releasing their shot on target.

A new opportunity was created when Joe Allen crossed Ronald in the 77th minute. However, Wycombe's defense broke the chance first. Joe Allen's left foot kick in the 87th minute was also still floating over the opponent's goal.

Without additional goals in time, Wycombe won 1-0 over Swansea. This defeat left Swansea eliminated from the second round of the Carabao Cup 2024/2025.
