Three Shortages Leo/Bagas And Fikri/Daniel

Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana must correct the shortcomings of the Japan Open 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Men's doubles coach Aryono Miranat revealed that there are still three shortcomings owned by Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.

The two men's doubles pairs managed to reach the semifinals of the Japan Open 2024 last week even though they came to the tournament with a new composition.

Aryono said that this achievement was more than good. However, as a new couple, they still have flaws that need to be patched.

"The lack is still often too late when a player has to move forward or back. The rotation is not good and still needs to be improved," he said.

He continued that in terms of technique, the two pairs were quite good. However, for the men's doubles, the front game is very important, especially on service and receiving services.

"Because with good service and service, we will be able to press and attack and continue to fight. Our dual strength is in attack. In terms of defense, the two pairs are good. It just has to be improved and the variation is added," said Aryono.

On the way to the semifinals, these two pairs were recorded not to have lost a set. However, all these victories were not against the superior pairs.

They just met the seed in the semifinals they failed to pass. Leo/Bagas were stopped by Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin, while Fikri/Daniel lost against third seed Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae.

Aryono said that even though he often couples up during training, the tournament situation is much different. However, he was satisfied with the journey his students made.

"I see that these two couples have been able to fill each other out. In terms of communication, it is also good. Of course there are still shortcomings," he said.

Leo/Bagas and Fikri/Daniel will next play at the Korea Open 2024 this week. This tournament starts rolling from Tuesday, August 27, 2024, to September 1, 2024.
