Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Schedule

The Seine River is the location for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics (doc. olympics.com).

JAKARTA The Paris 2024 Olympics will take place soon. The opening ceremony will also take place outside the stadium for the first time.

The opening schedule will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024. The plan starts at 17.45 local time or Saturday, July 27, 2024, early morning at 00.45 WIB.

This opening will turn the French capital into a stadium and a theater show. You see, the athlete parade using boats runs along the Sea River and passes through some of the most iconic landmarks in Paris City.

This is the first time in the history of the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics being held outside the stadium. Guests and spectators will be treated to a river parade with colorful visualizations at the heart of the French capital.

The Seane River as the main water arterial in Paris City will replace athletic trajectories which are usually parade paths at opening ceremonies inside the stadium. Meanwhile, the cadres on the left and right sides of the river will be the audience stands.

The concept of this outdoor ceremony makes the 2024 Paris Olympics the biggest opening ceremony in terms of audience numbers and geographical coverage.

The Austerlitz Bridge next to the Jardin des Plantes will be the starting point of the parade. The athlete then followed the river to the west for six kilometers.

The parade will pass through historic bridges and iconic landmarks, such as Notre-Dame and Louvre as well as several match venues, including Esplanade desIvides and Grand Palais.

All athletes in the parade will reach their final point in Trocadero, the field across the Eiffel Tower. This is where the Olympic torch will be lit and the opening ceremony will officially open.

Although the opening ceremony has not yet been held, several sports have started competing on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Two of them are football and rugby seven.

The Indonesian contingent has 29 athletes from 12 sports who will take part in the 2024 Paris Olympics. They went there with the target of bringing home more than two gold medals for the first time in the history of participation.
