BAJC 2024: Xu Wen Jing Wins The Final Of Fellow Chinese Players

JAKARTA - China's women's singles badminton player, Xu Wen Jing, won the 2024 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (BAJC) tournament.

Competing in the 2024 BAJC final at the Amonggrogo GOR, Yogyakarta, Saturday, July 7, the player who was born on July 11, 2007, took the podium after overthrowing his country's compatriot, Yin Yi Qing 21-13, 21-15.

In the final match of BAJC 2024, Xu Wen Jing admitted that he was happy to be able to play in front of the Yogyakarta public. Many supporters gave encouragement to make Xu Wen Jing motivated to win the title.

Evidently in the top party of BAJC 2024, his performance was very good to win the title after winning two straight games over his country's compatriots within 33 minutes.

"I'm sure it feels good to be a champion in the 2024 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships tournament. The presence of fan support makes me motivated to give my best. Overall I am happy with the achievements in this tournament," said Xu Wen Jing.

Xu Wen Jing's victory at BAJC 2024 over Yin Yi Qing made him extend his slick record meeting with his country's compatriot.

In the previous meeting in the quarter-finals of Dutch Junior International 2024, Xu Wen Jing also won over the women's singles ranked 85 in the junior world with a score of 21-14, 21-17.

For Xu Wen Jing, the title in the BAJC 2024 tournament was special considering that in 2023 he only finished as a semifinalist.

The 2023 German Junior Champion was stopped in the top four after surrendering from representatives of South Korea, Kim Min Ji 17-21, 21-17, and 16-21.

"In the previous edition I had to settle for being a semifinalist. This year I was able to become a champion, making me happy. Moreover, I was able to bring up both my country in this tournament and move until the final and become a champion," said the eighth ranked junior world.

With this result, Xu Wen Jing won his second title in 2024 after previously triumphing at Dutch Junior International 2024. At that time competing in Haarlem, the Netherlands, Xu Wen Jing became the champion after overthrowing representatives of Thailand, Sarunrak Vitidsarn 13-21, 21-11, and 21-18.

Xu Wen Jing hopes that the achievement in the BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2024 tournament can continue in the BWF World Junior Championships 2024. Moreover, the event will be held in public itself in Nanchang, China from September 30 to October 13.

"I am quite confident in facing the 2024 BWF World Junior Championships tournament. After this I will focus on winning the title in the tournament," Xu said.

Apart from the women's singles sector, representatives of the Bamboo Curtain country who passed the top party were recorded as Hu Zhe An (men's singles), Hu Ke Yuan/Lin Xian Yi (men's doubles), Chen Fan Shu Tian/Liu Jia Yue (women's doubles), and Lin Xiang Yi/Liu Yuan Yuan (mixed doubles).
