JAKARTA - Ahead of the Euro 2024 quarter-final match which was highly anticipated against Switzerland, Saturday, July 6, the England national team received a musical encouragement from Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran, the singer and songwriter who won the Grammys known for hits such as "The A Team," gave a personal appearance for the England squad at their training headquarters in BLAnkenhain, Germany.

After England's dramatic 2-1 win over Slovakia in the round of 16, Sheeran, who is a staunch supporter of the Three Lions, brought his guitar to help boost the team's enthusiasm.

This impromptu appearance aims to energize the players as they prepare for another important match in this tournament.

This isn't the first time Sheeran has used his musical talent for the England team during a big competition. Previously, he had also appeared for the team at St. George's Park ahead of the Euro 2020 final, which unfortunately ended in a penalty shootout against Italy.

The intimate concert took place amid UEFA's investigation into midfielder Jude Bellingham on suspicion of inappropriate gestures during celebrations following its key goals against Slovakia.

Despite the disruption, England remains focused on the upcoming match against the tough Swiss team, who beat defending champions Italy in the round of 16.

Gareth Southgate, who marked his 100th game as a coach, faced strategic decisions with key players like Marc Guehi who were absent due to card accumulation.

The quarter-final match between England and Switzerland will be held at Merkur Spiel-Arena in D\"usseldorf on Saturday, July 6.
