JAKARTA The Indonesian Wushu Executive Board (PB WI) held the National Circuit Stage Final '-Kejurnas Wuhsu Junior Taolu & Sanda and the 2024 Taolu Senior Open Wushu Championships for the selection of the 2024 Wushu Junior World Championship athletes.

"We, as the government that oversees sports, certainly really appreciate Indonesia's wushu, which today held the National Championship of Wushu Junior," he said.

Dito further said that the recent achievements of wushu sports have been even more encouraging. Therefore, he hopes that this sport can consistently contribute.

"So, wushu is a sport that maintains tradition and is expected to always give a lot of gold medals," he said.

A total of 300 athletes participated in this event. This number is the result of the selection of approximately 1,000 athletes from all corners of Indonesia.

As many as 60 of the best junior athletes from the National Championships will enter the national training camp (pelatnas) for the Ninthth Wushu Junior World Championship which will be held on September 22-30, 2024 at Brunei Darussalam.

"After this National Championship, we will assign a team to prepare for the Junior World Championships later," said the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Indonesian Wushu Executive Board, Ngatino.

Previously, Indonesia hosted the eighth edition of the Wushu Junior World Championship in 2022. At that time, the event took place in Tangerang City.
