Deputy General Treasurer of PB ESI, Ashadi Ang, said that the Esport League is a strategic step from the federation to improve the esport ecosystem in Indonesia.

"This National Esport League also has a positive impact on cross-sectoral empowerment, such as the creative economy, education and culture," Ashadi said at a press conference at the PB ESI Office, Gandaria 8 Office Tower, Jakarta, Thursday, June 27, 2024.

In total there are three stages of competition run by PB ESI this season, starting from Liga 3. Registration at this stage is divided into three lanes, namely Solo, Pro Team, and Open. The registration period for the four lines is the same from 27 June 2024 to 22 July 2024.

All teams from Liga 3 will later undergo online qualification between 30 July 2024 and 21 August 2024. The two best teams from each route will then get a second-stage ticket in Liga 2.

There, they will compete with 12 League 2 teams from the previous season to win the last two tickets to League 1. In this last stage, a total of 14 teams competed and six of them would advance to the playoffs.

For the second and third stages, the competition has been held offline. The location of the match will take place at Taman Anggrek Mall, West Jakarta.

Member of the Executive Committee of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Krisna Bayu, hopes that this event will be useful as a forum for the preparation of Indonesian athletes to compete at a higher level.

"We hope that the general chairman (PB ESI) can coordinate internationally so that as soon as possible this esport can immediately enter the Olympic sport," he said.

Four other games that came with the title of exhibition to accompany the maintile Mobile Legend Bang are Battle of Guardians, Wardeka Battleground, eFootball, and Signed 8.
