Third Round Draw Results Qualifying For The 2026 World Cup Asian Zone

The Indonesian national team is in Group C of the Third Round of Qualification for the 2026 World Cup (doc. PSSI).

The draw or draw for the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification has been held at the AFC headquarters, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

A total of 18 teams that qualified for the Third Round of Qualification were divided into three groups, aka each containing six countries.

The Indonesian national team, which entered Pot 6 with North Korea and Kuwait, joined in Group C with strong countries, such as Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and China.

The Garuda squad is banned from South Korea. The Warriors' Taegeuk who entered Pot 1 with Japan and Iran joined Group B, which is inhabited by Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Palestine, and Kuwait.

The 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification Third Round Match will take place from 5 September 2024 and finish on 10 June 2025.

This round applies a double round robin format, where each participant will meet with the other participants twice (andang-tandang).

In total, each team participating in the 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round will play 10 matches, 5 home games and 5 away parties.

Later, the top two teams from each group will qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup. While the third and fourth ranked teams will return to compete in the Fourth Round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone.
