KAI Commuter Blacklist 40 Sexual Harassment Perpetrators, 17 Cases Processed Lawfully

JAKARTA - KAI Commuter takes firm action against perpetrators of sexual harassment in the Commuter Line environment. During Semester-I 2026, as many as 40 perpetrators have been put on the blacklist (blacklist) so that they can no longer access the Commuter Line service.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Karina Amanda said the policy was part of the company's commitment to creating a safe and comfortable public space for all mass transportation users.

"From the total handling, KAI Commuter took firm disciplinary and preventive action by including all 40 perpetrators in the blacklist (blacklist) of access to Commuter Line services. This step is taken to ensure that perpetrators can no longer use the Commuter Line train facilities in all operational areas through the integration of the surveillance system," he said in an official statement, Monday, July 27.

Karina explained that out of the 40 cases handled, 17 cases had been reported and handed over to the police for processing in accordance with legal provisions. Meanwhile, the other cases did not continue to the legal realm because of the victim's decision to choose not to report.

"KAI Commuter continues to encourage and appeal to the victims to dare to continue the legal process to provide maximum deterrence for the perpetrators," he said.

According to Karina, KAI Commuter is also ready to provide assistance to victims, including escorting the reporting process to legal handling at the police.

"We also want to assure all users that the victim is not alone, we are committed to accompanying the victim until the end of the legal process," he said.

In addition to enforcement, KAI Commuter strengthened preventive measures through the optimization of CCTV analytic cameras at a number of station points as well as increasing the patrol of security officers. The company also routinely holds campaigns and socialization of prevention of sexual violence in the Commuter Line environment.

The campaign was carried out together with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Empowerment of Women and Child Protection (KPPPA), women's organizations, influencers, and communities in the KAI Commuter operational area.

Through this collaboration, the public is invited to speak up if they see or experience sexual harassment or violence. Karina emphasized that KAI Commuter guarantees the confidentiality of the victim's identity and is ready to accompany every legal enforcement process.
