Kylian Mbappe Almost Recovered From Nostrils, But His Presence Against Poland Is Not Certain

JAKARTA - The coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, revealed that their star, Kylian Mbappe, is still recovering from a broken nose. However, the coach is not certain whether his attacker will play in their final group stage match in the European Cup, Tuesday, June 25. Deschamps confirmed that Mbappe is in a good recovery stage and the process of swelling his nose has decreased every day.

"You will see (whether he will play or not), but everything goes in the right direction, he is recovering from a collision, the bruises are decreasing every day, and he will get used to this mask. He's fine," Deschamps said on France's Telefoot television program.

After a 0-0 draw against the Netherlands in Leipzig last Friday, where Mbappe remained on the bench, French media have been busy discussing their team's lack of attack power in recent matches. Even so, Deschamps declined to give hints whether to change the formation of his team's attack.

"I've planned a team that will ensure the best qualifying and group completion. We always hope to get a little more recovery for some players. You can conclude from there what you want," said Deschamps.

Mbappe's teammates, during a press conference on Sunday, indicated that the 25-year-old forward was eager to play, especially after playing for an hour during a training session against a local academy team on Saturday, June 22.

"When he was on the pitch, he was 100% focused, he started getting used to masks and scoring goals," said defender Jonathan Clauss.

"I think he wants to play in the next game. Maybe he wants to play without a mask, but the doctor doesn't give him that choice," added midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The question of whether Mbappe will be included in the French starting lineup against Poland remains unanswered, with France already advancing to the last 16 after collecting four points from two matches.
