Marriage Preparations For Ribka Sugiarto Withdraw From The PBSI National Training Center

JAKARTA Women's doubles badminton player, Ribka Sugiarto, has withdrawn from the PBSI Cipayung national training camp (Pelatnas) to prepare for his wedding.

Head of PBSI's Development and Achievement Division, Ricky Soebagdja, said that he had conveyed verbally his intention to resign.

"Later, the official letter will be sent to PBSI soon," Ricky said at a press conference at the PBSI National Training Center, Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Ribka expressed verbal submission to the head of the women's doubles coach, Eng Hian, about a week ago. The coach then continued the contents of the conversation with Ricky.

Ricky simply regretted the decision made by Ribka. The reason is, he and his partner, Lanny Tria Mayasari, have been programmed to participate in several tournaments in the future.

"Actually (the pair) has been registered at the Thailand Open 2024 so it is automatically withdrawn," said Ricky.

The decision taken by Ribka made the composition of the women's doubles sector automatically change. Moreover, at the same time Meilysa Trias Puspitasari was also injured.

This situation allows PBSI to pair Lanny with Rachel Alllessya Rose. This option is open because currently both of them do not have a tandem.
