Real Madrid Confirmed To Remove Modric Wounds, Toni Kroos' Fate Is Not Certain

JAKARTA - Real Madrid is certain not to keep veteran midfielder Luka Modric. If Modric is released, the fate of his colleague Toni Kroos is still uncertain.

Modric will not be maintained by Madrid. The age of 38 makes it increasingly difficult for Modric to compete with young players. Moreover, the captain's salary for the Croatian national team is high.

This season, Modric has been eliminated and sits on the bench more often. He is rarely played by coach Carlo Ancelotti. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been affected by player rotation.

Previously, Modric was said to have been defended by Madrid. The reason is that he is projected to occupy certain positions in the team.

However, the club made sure not to award Modric a new contract and would not use Modric's services in the club's coaches and management.

For the team's needs, Madrid claims it is time for the regeneration of players. Young players are also expected to grow.

In the back sector, for example, Captain Nacho is 34 years old. He will also leave and the possibility of playing in MLS. Meanwhile, Dani Carvajal's tandem was no longer young because he was 32.

Modric himself is definitely released. Moreover, the team already has young midfielder Arda Guler.

Modric came to the Santiago Bernabeu 12 years ago. Had difficulty because he came from Tottenham who was then a English Premier League midoker club. But then he slowly adapted to the team.

He played more than 530 times by scoring 39 goals and making 86 assists. Modric helped Los Blancos win the Champions League five times.

The 34-year-old midfielder has proven that he is still the pillar of Madrid. Even Kroos canceled his retirement from the national team.

German coach Julian Nagelsmann asked him to return to the national team and appear at Euro 2024. He accepted the offer and Kroos returned to Die Mannschaft's uniform.
