2023/2024 Competition Completes, Thomas Doll Talks About His Fate At Persija Jakarta Next Season

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach Thomas Doll spoke about the continuation of his fate at the club. This was said by the German coach along with the end of the 2023/2024 competition season on Tuesday, April 30.

After navigating 34 weeks in the 2023/2024 season, Persija Jakarta's performance can be said to be inconsistent. The team carrying the jargon To The Next Level can actually only finish in 8th place in the final standings with 48 points.

The team's performance also involves a little more about Thomas Doll's role as coach. Doll himself is actually bound by a contract to lead the Kemayoran Tigers until 2025, with one more year remaining, the question of the coach's future is also discussed.

Related to that, Thomas Doll has his own views. He admitted that he could not reveal anything. The reason is, everything that will be decided must go through serious discussions.

"Obviously I will speak with the board of directors and I am sure the club will definitely announce how Persija will be next season. Now is not a good moment to talk about that," said Doll after the match between Persija Jakarta vs PSIS Semarang at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta on Tuesday, April 30.

Despite the riddle of the continuation of his fate, Doll was satisfied because in the last week his team was able to close the match quite sweetly. Despite failing to seal the last four titles, Persija managed to win 2-1 over PSIS Semarang in the final match.

After the season-ending game, Doll revealed that he wanted all his players to rest and enjoy time together. Before later they get back together for the next season's preparations.

"Now we want to rest first, I will tell you when it's time to get together. The point is we are happy to have ended this season, the important thing is to rest first," said Doll.
