Proliga 2024 Possibility Of Holding Grand Final At Indonesia Arena

JAKARTA The 2024 PLN Mobile Proliga Competition includes plans to hold a Grand Final match for men and women at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta.

The highest level of the Indonesian volleyball league will start on April 25 and end on July 20 and 21, 2024. In the initial plan, GOR Amongrogo, Yogyakarta will be the location of the final match.

Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI), Imam Sudjarwo, said that there was a change in plans for the final location.

"The final plan will be held at the Indonesia Arena," said Imam at a press conference at SCTV Tower, Senayan Jakarta, on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Jakarta is actually not included in the nine cities that host this competition. Apart from Yogyakarta, the other eight cities appointed to host are Semarang, Palembang, Gresik, Bandung, Malang, Pontianak, Kediri, and Solo.

Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Palembang will host regular rounds I (April 25-12 May 2024), then Gresik for regulars I and II (May 16-19 2024), then Bandung, Malang, and Pontianak for regulars II (6-23 June 2024).

Meanwhile, Kediri and Solo are for Final Four (4-14 July 2024). The competition then closed the Grand Final match which took place in Yogyakarta on 20 and 21 July 2024.

However, Imam said that he had communicated with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, regarding the plan to relocate the location of the Grand Final match.

"I have spoken with the Minister of Youth and Sports and he supports it. We will later ask whether the 20 and 21 July 2024 are empty or not," he said.

PLN Mobile Proliga 2024 will be attended by 14 teams, seven men's teams and seven women's teams each.

The seven men's teams that participated were Jakarta LavAni Allobank, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Jakarta STIN BIN, Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax, South Sumatra BankBabel Palembang, Sukun Badak Kudus, and newcomers to Jakarta Garuda Jaya.

Meanwhile, the women's teams participating were Bjb Tandamata Bandung, Jakarta Pertamina Enduro, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia, BIN Jakarta, Polwan Popsivo Jakarta, Jakarta Electric PLN, and newcomers to Jakarta Livin Mandiri.
