Newcastle United Move Manchester United After Destroying Tottenham Hotspur

JAKARTA - Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 in the English Premier League match at St James' Park Stadium, Saturday, April 13, 2024 evening WIB. Newcastle also replaced Manchester United.

Newcastle has won an important victory that shows consistency to compete with Manchester United. They showed their best performance when they beat Tottenham.

The success of winning three points in the home game made Newcastle unbeaten in the last four matches. They were recorded as winning three times and drawing once so they won 10 points.

This achievement brought The Magpies up in the rankings in the standings. By pocketing the 50 points, they went up one strip to the sixth position. Newcastle shifted MU which dropped to seventh position with 49 points.

Meanwhile, Tottenham failed to enter the Champions League zone. Ange Postecoglou's side remain in fifth place with 60 points. The same as Aston Villa, who are in fourth place because they are ahead on goal difference.

The match itself is a draw. Tottenham tried to take the initiative to attack. But Newcastle also played openly to suppress the opponent's defense.

Only, Newcastle had to wait until half an hour before breaking into Tottenham's goal. The goal started with Anthony Gordon's action who received the ball from midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

He then passed defender Tottenham Destiny Udogie before releasing a pass at Alexander Isak. Carrying the ball, Isak outwitted defender Mickey Van de Ven and fired a shot into the net. Score 1-0 to Newcastle.

Only two minutes later or to be precise in the 32nd minute, Newcastle has increased the advantage. This time it was Gordon who scored after taking advantage of Pedro Porro's mistake in making a back pass.

But Porro's ball into the back led to Gordon who then maximized the opportunity. He also fired hard from close range who beat goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
