Phoenix Suns Rises, Devin Booker Scores 37 Points Inundated LA Clippers 124-108

The Devin Booker scored 16 of its 37 points in the first quarter, while Bradley Beal added 26 points as Phoenix Suns ended their two-match defeat with a 124-108 win over Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday 11 April at Crypto.com Arena, LA.

Kevin Durant donated 24 points and nine rebounds, while Royce O'Neale scored 15 points as Suns (47-33) hit home to Clippers on Tuesday, April 9 where they were 31 points behind in the first quarter.

Phoenix are now only half the game behind New Orleans Pelians to take sixth place in the Western region as they try to avoid a tournament in the middle of the season and get a straight place into the playoffs.

Bones Hyland set a career record with 37 points and contributed nine assists, while Brandon Boston Jr. scored 23 points for the Clippers (51-29), who lack their veteran players. From the Clippers, today Kawi Leonard (lutut) is absent from the sixth match in a row, while Paul George (knee injury), James Harden (leg injury), and Russell Westbrook (hand injury) are given a break.

Mason Plumlee donated 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Clippers, while Amir Coffey added 11 points as the Clippers stayed with one win -- or one Dallas Mavericks defeat -- from securing fourth place in the Western Region with two games remaining in the regular season.

The first much more competitive quarter on Thursday, Suns took the 28-27 lead to the second quarter after they trailed 37-10 in the first quarter on Tuesday. The production of high points from Booker came after he scored just 12 points in the previous game.

Suns had a 15-point lead in the second quarter, but Clippers closed the first half with a 56-55 lead after picking up a 20-4. Hyland scored 24 points in the first half for Los Angeles.

Although the Clippers are still 93-92 ahead after three quarters, the Suns began to take over in the middle of the fourth quarter. Phoenix is 107-106 ahead of Booker with less time remaining and leads 110-106 after a three-point shot from Grayson Allen with 6:02 remaining time.

Both teams failed to score points for more than two minutes, but Durant ended the drought with a reversed layoff and Jusuf Nurkic added a floater with 3:06 remaining to put the Suns 114-106 ahead.

One straight three-point shot from Durant and Booker put Phoenix 120-108 up to seal the win with 1:59 remaining time.
