JAKARTA – The men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin immediately lost in the first round of the 2024 Badminton Asia Championship (BAC). Leo/Daniel failed to advance to the second half after losing three games, 21-13, 19-21, and 21-23 against South Korean representative Kim Young Hyuk/Wang Chan, Wednesday, April 10 at noon WIB. In the first game Leo/Daniel appeared to dominate their opponents. They quickly took the 8-3 lead and then led with a five-point gap in the interval. After the break, Leo/Daniel's slick game was difficult for the Korean ambassador to balance. As a result, the Indonesian representatives were comfortably driving until they won the game. “Earlier in the first game we played well and won. Unfortunately in the second and third games, we couldn't take advantage of the momentum, "” Leo said. At the beginning of the second game, Leo/Daniel again showed their solid game and won 7-3. However, they had to admit the opponent's advantage of two points during the break. Three draws had occurred after that. However, Leo/Daniel could not catch up with their opponents again after the position of 14-14 so the match continued into the deciding game. At the beginning of the last game, Leo/Daniel were immediately 5-9 behind Kim/Wang. Leo/Daniel then got up and won five points in a row and the score changed to 10-9 before falling behind one point again at the interval. Kim/Wang immediately kept the advantage to 17-13 after that. Their rate was then grabbed by Leo/Daniel at 18-19. After that, the score had changed 20-19 for Kim/Wang's advantage. Leo/Daniel did not give up and equalized the score 20–20, but the opponent responded well at that critical point. “ In the third game we were able to catch up.
