Mbappe Threatens Barcelona: Time For Great Players To Appear On The Main Stage Of The Champions League

JAKARTA - Kylian Mbappe has warned Barcelona ahead of the match against PSG that he plans to appear on the main stage in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, April 10 or Thursday morning WIB.

Mbappe scored four goals against Barca in two games in the last 16 of the 2020/21 season and hopes to lift the Champions League trophy this season before leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. He will head to Barca rival club Real Madrid, which has been his goal so far.

"This is the time for great players," Mbappe told Telefoot. "I'm ready and, as usual, I'm not going to hide."

"Looking at the dynamics we have, I'm sure we will give our best, then the result... It is in the hands of God. Like every year, we enter an important period this season. At the end of April, we will have elements to know what kind of season we will experience," he said.

Mbappe entered the match this Wednesday with a fresh feeling after sitting on the bench for PSG's game against Clermont Foot which ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday, April 7. The Frenchman set Goncalo Ramos' goal in the last minute to win a point for Luis Enrique's side.

Stopping Mbappe will be a key challenge for Barcelona coach, Xavi, but Club Vice President Rafa Yuste recently confirmed that Barca has the ability to complete the task.

"Barcelona can stop Mbappe and PSG attacks," said Yuste. "Mbappe is a great player but we see this as a team.

"Our backbaris conceded just a bit of a goal last season. We had to be very serious both games and do the right things for the team," he added.
