Thom Haye Relieved Naturalization Completed And Ready To Defend The Indonesian National Team

Thom Haye officially became an Indonesian citizen after taking the oath of allegiance (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - Thom Haye's naturalization was completed on Monday, March 18, 2024, WIB night.

He officially became an Indonesian citizen (WNI) after undergoing the oath and pledge of allegiance to the citizens of the Republic of Indonesia at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) DKI Jakarta.

The SC Heerenveen player admitted that he was relieved that the long process of naturalization was completed.

"After a long process, finally finished. I am happy. Process 24 hours. After I played (with Heerenveen). I went straight to the airport. I flew 18 hours (to Indonesia). Then, I came here (Jakarta) and finished," said Thom Haye.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old midfielder can't wait to play for the Indonesian national team. Nearby, he is scheduled to defend the Garuda Squad against Vietnam in the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualifiers.

"I am happy and grateful for the support (to supporters of the Indonesian national team and all parties). I hope to contribute to the progress of the Indonesian national team," said Thom Haye.

Even though the citizenship is complete, he must complete the transfer of the federation from KNVB (Netherlands) to PSSI (Indonesia) so that he can appear with the Indonesian national team.
