French Results Open 2024: Hendra/Ahsan Lose Against The Vice Host

Hendra/Ahsan were eliminated in the first round of the French Open 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Men's doubles pair Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan immediately lost in the first round of the French Open 2024.

The veteran doubles had to lift the suitcase from the Super 750 BWF event after giving up three games 21-19, 17-21, and 19-21 on the pairs of hosts, Lucas Corvee/Ronan Labar, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

Hendra said that in this match he and his partner had not been able to appear 100 percent. Their physical condition is not in a really fit state.

"This is our first match after the Malaysia Open 2024. The preparations are good, but a week before leaving I was hit by a heavy flu. Ahsan was also not fit when he arrived here. We felt that the power had not returned 100 percent," he said.

"However, beyond that, the opponent did play very well. We tried to continue to attack, but it was very difficult to penetrate their defense," he said.

Hendra/Ahsan are the third representatives of Indonesia who had to lift their suitcases early. Previously, two representatives of Merah-White who also fell in the first round were Jonatan Christie and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

Jonathan Christie lost against Taipei's Chinese singles, Wang Tzu Wei. Meanwhile, Rinov/Pitha were stopped by the Japanese pair, Yuki Kaneko/Misaki Matsutomo.
