JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that goalkeeper Alisson will be out for a longer time due to his'serious' injury.
Alisson stepped down from the squad against Brentford on February 17 with a hamstring problem he suffered during training. He was also absent from the Reds' win, against Burnley the previous week due to illness. He has now missed the last five matches of the Reds, including the Carabao Cup final win against Chelsea last week at Wembley.
Ahead of Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest back to Premier League action, Klopp was asked when Alisson could return, but he had bad news to deliver.
"There's no definite timeframe for that, but it's a real muscle injury," Klopp said. "It's not a short one. It's a bit serious, but it's not an injury that ends the season."
In the absence of Alisson, the reserve goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelher, has moved up front and made several sensational appearances, especially in last week's Carabao Cup win when Liverpool were in a difficult situation.
Her neck was the subject of interest in transfers last summer but chose to stay at Anfield and now enjoy an extended playing period in the team.
"There's talk with the players before the season, but it never gets to the point where it's, 'you have to stay, stay'. It's just a normal discussion about his future," Klopp said of his neck.

"The most important thing is that we have to help him in the next step in his development by playing more games. I see it in the same way the players will say. I think now he is quite happy with the decisions he made in the summer," added Klopp.
"For me there is no opportunity for him to leave, so I'm not interested in who is asking. It will have to be the appropriate price to give us the opportunity to do something in a difficult market," Klopp said.
"It's not like other goalkeepers who moved from A to B for 15 million or 20 million pounds. It's completely unrealistic and nonsense," he said.
